if you don't use the padding it is. I'm probably going to replace it with velcro next time I feel like tinkering..

So I read on the Shorai site that you can use a charger as long as it doesn't desulfate the battery. So despite what I though, my charger DOES desulfate even under 3amp trickle. That would explain why it melted, then exploded..........doh!

total bummer.

well I'm not buying that shit....

all the lithiums will do it. My old charger did not desulfate on trickle(Battery Tender). My new one (Schumacher) doesn't either, but it automatically detects if the battery needs to be desulfated, and if so, after a few min of charging will kick up to high charge rate and desulfate.
The battery has performed flawlessly since I got it, and I will replace it with another.
The failure was 100% operator head-space and timing..![]()

Joe knows some big words.
I like shiny things.

Send them the old battery, the specs on the charger, a copy of the conversation, and this:

I'm over it, it was my fault for not using the proper charger. I spend more than that out drinking, and I have lightened up these days, so that's how I can justify not being too pissed.
Problem solved, problem staying solved!
