^ Bloody Oath! They are hopeless and precious. I skimmed my way to the end of that - and feel rather robbed of multiple hours of my life... The reason they embarked upon this big trek, is because they had no idea what they were up for, hence their huge shock and surprise. Seasoned riders wouldn't have embarked upon it so lightly.
I wouldn't mind doing that kind of a trek - distance wise, but no way am I up for wasting 4 months to do it. I don't mind doing 1000km (600mi) per day - that's how I usually roll here in Aus on sealed highways. Those two wasted far too much time each day doing computer shit and blog updates instead of riding. When they're not rolling until 10-11am each morning, that's 3-4 hours of usable riding time they've wasted. That's somewhere between 240km-330km (150-205mi) extra distance per day they could have traveled - over the course of a week, that's a shitload further they could have ended up. Their lack of mechanical knowledge and knowledge of their own bikes, reliance on bmw dealerships, their over reliance on 2 way bike to bike communications was pathetic. They both have serious mental issues - evidenced by the end of that thread. Respect to them for making it to their goal destination.
Otherwise they are under-prepared, lucky to be alive, whinging pussies... Hope they sell up and take off on their Ural outfit with their dogs, and stop whinging about the cold, the uncomfortable, and local cultures.

161 miles the first day? Worse than riding with white collar Harley guys.

Are they both women? I just read this.....

"when we discovered that Kay’s Aerostich Kanetsu heated vest had left red burn marks in his back."

My money would have been on women....now I have no idea!
