I bought this speedy just before christmas on ebay site unseen, never thought i would do that but ive always loved these bikes and just never had the funds at the right time to afford one. After doing all the appropriate checks into its history i went in at the deep end and took the risk.
As far as i can tell it was stolen and written off some time ago, when it arrived it was covered in black fingerprint dust and looked like it had been stored in a shed for some time. She only has 7000km on the clock, just run in, but looks like its been thrown down and back ended into a gutter going buy the smashed rear wheel. The rhs is where the most damage is as you can tell by the pics.

Parts i need to replace are as follows : Radiator, rad cover and rhs indicators, pipes, rhs rearset, engine covers, rear wheel, handle bars and all rhs bar controls and mirrors. Plus repair the damage to the tank and plastics.
The first thing that i have learnt is not to take on a project like this at the beginning of summer, the frustration of waiting for parts to arrive and repairs to be finished is much higher when all you want to do is get out there and ride. After completely stripping the bike over christmas im finally getting close to starting to put her back together. All the parts have arrived, the tank and plastics have been resprayed, im just waiting for the frame to return from the powdercoaters and i will be under way.
I picked the plastics up yesterday from the panel shop, instead of fusion white i had it resprayed in more of a pearl white which looks great when its in the sun, tried to take a pick of the rear seat cowl in the sun but it doeasnt really do it justice. The tank is down at a local sign writer who talked me into airbrushing the triumph and speed triple back onto the tank instead of decals for not much more cost, he showed me some of his work and it really impressive, hes doing it this weekend then its back to the panel shop for its final coat of clear.

So when the frame arrives i will take some more progress pictures as the bike begins to take shape.

The pearl white like the Ducati pearl white? And yes, the photos don't do it justiceIf it's not too rude to ask, how much for the paint jobbie?
No body move, I dropped my brain.
Nice work! Now go get your hands dirty!!!![]()

Not sure what the duke white looks like.
The panel shop actually had some paint left over from a job they had done previously and did a small sample for me to see if i liked it.
Im stoked with it, if i was to attempt to describe it i guess it has a slighty creamy white look to it.
Or was that cause i liked it so much and got a tad excited.......
Repairing the damage to the tank and the panels + painting was about a grand
