Other bikes that are comparable to the Speedy

Just curious what other bikes are out there that are comparable to the speedy and their pros cons. For instance, I loved my Speedy. Did everything well enough for what I wanted to use it for. Was a tad under powered once you got used to it, but that torque... Definitely made up for it. She may have only kept up with 600s on the highway tooling around, but nothing was faster at slower speeds off a corner with that torque. Comfortable too. But damn if that triumph parts back order wasn't a PITA. So what other bikes are out there and what are their pros/cons or negatives with the company?

Ducati 848 is a much better bike. Puts speedy to shame.

yamaha fz-1 is comparable, it has good power, but it's boring(sound/look/feel).

Aprilia tuono factory, 2007-> could be nice, Brembo brakes, good twin engine, öhlins suspension and oz wheels as standard. the front fairing lamp thingy is ugly, but I doubt you can see it while driving...

I've been thinking that that Tuono could be good alternative to speedy. expecially the ohlins/oz wheel version. the engine should be quite reliable and handling is good.

^ the Tuono is awesome, but you're spot on with the suspension bits. The std version is not as good as speedy for sure, if I got another Tuono, I'd go ahead and spring for the factory with the upgraded suspension bits.

Chewy did nothing but complain about the FZ1 he rode on the RMR, so I doubt he would consider it comparable. On the other hand, that Superhawk was one sweet machine. I wish Honda still made it. I'd also consider a Suzuki SV1000.

The MV Agusta Brutale 1090RR is supposed to compare favorably, but costs a medium fortune.

The Tuono is also not as comfortable as Speedy, and the engine in the new one is a gas guzzler. Also, not as smooth at low revs/ around town... Don't get me wrong- I love Tuonos... but for everyday user friendliness? eeeehhhhhhh.....

Ducati Monster? Comfort level about the same as Speedy, good around town, lots of low end grunt, parts availability would probably be the same....

Honda CB1000R? Comfortable, reliable, slightly underpowered.... doesn't have the low down grunt of the triple or twin. Parts availability shouldn't be an issue.

Kawi Z1000? Not as comfortable, lots of top end power, but again doesn't have the low down grunt. Parts availability not an issue. Styling is kinda love it/ hate it...

In order, FZ1 but not as much in personality. MV Augusta 1090 Brutale but way too much money, Aprilla Tuono but again big money unless you go left over. But the bike is a tad too small for a big guy like me. The tank ridge is not good for large peoples legs/knees. 848 Streetfighter. Great bike. I have ridden them all except for the Tuono.
