    Scorpion EXO 1100?

I need a new lid this season. I currently have a Duhamel replica Shark RSR2. I LOVE my RSR2. I hate to retire it, but it's 4 seasons old. So, I've been shopping $400 and under price range. Came across the EXO1100, and I like the idea of the flip down shades. I have a clear shield and dark shield for the Shark, and I have to carry both with me if I know I'll be riding day into night. The inflatable cheekpads seems kinda gimmicky.
Anyone tried the Scorpion? Any other suggestions for my price range?
A few seasons ago I bought a Shoei X-11 Glory, but sold it after a few rides because it just wasn't as comfortable as the Duhamel.

My buddy i ride with has one, he likes it a lot. He really likes the flip down visor
As far as Scorpions go, not sure if you've owned one before but I have the EXO700 which for the price is a great helmet. Comfortable, looks good and relatively quiet for the price range
    I say go for it

I had a 700(?) scorpion that worked well, but my pumpkin head is much happier in my l/o Arai. Check the weight on the scorpion, that would be my only concern if it fits your noggin.
You think he's gone? He's not gone. That's the whole point! He's never gone!

I had a Scorpion EXO-1000 (predecessor to the 1100) and loved it. It was a tad on the heavy side, but the drop-down visor (and the overall value) is why I bought it. I, too, thought the pump-up cheek pads were gimmicky at first. But after finding it quite helpful on the interstate, as well as after the liner "broke in" after a few months, I no longer find it to be a gimmick; it's really much more helpful and useful than you realize.

I was wearing my 1000 when I destroyed my previous bike, and it took quite the smack-n-slide (on the top, chin, and visor), and held up wonderfully. As a result, I was looking at getting another 1000 as a replacement. However, the new model EXO-500 caught my eye, as it contains all of the features of the out-going 1000, and is actually lighter since Scorpion ditched the overly stringent (and, in my opinion, unnecessary) Snell rating in favor of the ECE (and of course DOT) rating. I've loved my 500 since purchase. Only disappointment I've had is that Scorpion hasn't gotten any Dark Smoke visors out to market for the 500...and I don't know why. I really want one in addition to the drop down visor.

The 1100 is being marketed as "high end" while still retaining a good monetary value, but it has the same features as the 500. I don't really know what the difference between the two, or if that difference would even matter to me personally.

Since everyone's head is shaped differently. Go to a show room and try on every kind (make and model) then when you find a brand that fits snug/well/comfy/just right/size, go online and buy it cheap. Thats how I got my Arai. Love it!

I have the EXO 900 which also has the flip down visor and pump up cheek pads. It is pretty comfortable but heavy and quite loud at highway speeds.

I've had two EXO 700's and can't recommend them enough. (First one died in a crash). The current one is still in good shape except for the shield. The anti-fog coating is coming off of it. This is the downside to Scorpion helmets: The shields are expensive. Plan on paying around $40 for a replacement.

I guess I shouldn't complain though. I've got over 4 years on this lid in total. If I had the cash I'd go for the new EXO 500.

Of course the clincher is Scorpions fit my oddly shaped noggin. Shoei? Forget it. Loose side to side while tight front to back. Same deal with Arai.
I will never forget you, although I try very much to do so on a daily basis.
My psychiatrist recommends medication. I'm not sure to which one of us he's referring to.

Wait, I think someone just farted in my pants.

I wish I could try some on locally. No bike shops around here stock a lot of helmets. The main brand stocked is HJC, then Shoei, then the super cheapies. I've never seen an Arai at an actual shop before. The Ducati dealership used to stock Suomy and Scorpion, but they're not stocking the full face versions anymore. The parts rep told me everyone wants modular helmets these days!
Anyway, I've found some good deals on a few Arai Vectors online, so now that's what I'm leaning toward.

I still have my EXO-1000. Great helmet. One of the reasons why I got it was for the flip-down shades. As for the pumped cheek pads, that feature does come in handy. I am actually able to let people with smaller heads wear the helmet after the cheeks have been pumped up a bit. Additionally, the anti-fog screen is great. The EXO-1000 is primarily my winter riding helmet because of that. It is a bit on the heavier side, but actually not too bad. With all that is in the helmet, I'm actually surprised it's not heavier.
Ok, now I watched it with sound. My lawyer will soon send you a cease and desist order in the name of bikers everywhere. It's really cheesey and crap! Seriously, this is BS. No wonder.... never mind, just stop.
