    Back to Triumph

    Hey Guys,

Just picked up an overstock 11 Speed from the local dealer (Blackfoot motorsports in Calgary if anyone cares)

Got into riding after all the kidlets grew up and actually had some extra cash that wasnt going to someones ballet lessons or needs for a latest Lulu lemon or Uggs...

Bought my first bike an 09 Triumph Street triple R... Wow... Loved Loved Loved that bike.. Still sits kinda bad that I ever sold it. (Can't really explain why except it seemed a little small under me but it was sooo much fun)

Bought a 10 Vstom at the same time I had the Striple but made the mistake of getting on the Striple after taking the Vstom for its first long ride.. Never got on it again.. (Sold it and could care less if I ever see it again)

Bought a 09 BMW K1300r with the intention of doing a long ride down to San Fran and over to Vegas with some buddies. (I live in Calgary AB Canada) Total distance was about 6300 kms.

That bike was FREAKIN FAST.. With the gear shift assist it hit 260 kmh (around 164 mph) way way too quickly.. (Scared the crap out of me)

I didn't like the way the tires felt (Bridgestone) so I actually was on my way down to Motorrad to switch them out for some Michelin PR2's for the trip.

Hit some gravel the street cleaner had just left in the middle of the corner and low sided the bike across the corner about 5 minutes from the shop.

Long story short with the Insurance company there was a small nick in the engine case but nothing structurally wrong with the bike.. They wrote it off.. $15 K worth of parts and repairs... Bye bye BMW...

With less then 2 weeks before the trip I was in damage control mode and picked up a 07 Triumph Tiger 1050 for the trip.. Had the oil changed, front fork seals done and new PR2's mounted..

Hadnt riden the bike for more the 30 minutes total and headed out on the 2 week trip.. Bike ran fantastic despite my nursing severely bruised ribs.

Loved the motor but just didnt have the same fun factor that the Striple gave me.

Sold that one this spring and then picked up this 11 Speed.

Havent had any seat time on it but I just hope it gives me the same thrill (or more) that the striple did.

Not a big fan of the new headlights so Im going to search for a replacement set of the old style (Jimmyheadgear has some buckets we may make a deal on)

This place reminds me of the Triumph675.Net site..

Looking forward to lurking and learning here.

    Later Eh,,

    Tom

    *Street Triple forever!*

Even though you have downgraded your bike, welcome anyway.
I will never forget you, although I try very much to do so on a daily basis.
My psychiatrist recommends medication. I'm not sure to which one of us he's referring to.

Wait, I think someone just farted in my pants.
