probably had the longest ride ever this past sunday. 600 miles, half slab, half twisty. 6:30am - 10pm with very minimal stops. woulda been 12-13hr ride even if it weren't for my clutch cable breaking halfway from home. that put us behind an hour or so. anyhow, here's a couple vids from the weekend:
shady valley following my friend...painfully, painfully slow
hayter's gap in va - first run, brisk, but nothing too fast. this was an insane stretch of road. lotta fun
here's a pic of the rigging i had to do on the clutch cable. still can't believe i made it home like that. went from damascus, va (middle of nowhere) all the way home with only having to pull in clutch 5 times. clutchless shifting ftmfw.

I understand your point and I'd like to agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

he took a spill on shady valley. got spooked on a switchback and ran off road. bike toppled over him. when i was recording him, i think he was still a bit gunshy. i wanted to chase after that guy on the r1 so badly.
btw.. you gotta get up and do that stretch of 58 from mouth of wilson to damascus. really pretty stretch of road. and get up in virginia one of these days and do hayter's gap. i did that based on ken's recommendation. it is a fun ass (but dangerous) piece of twisty.

YOU ARE THE MOST AWESOME MOTORCYCLE TRAVELER EVER.![]()
Glad you had fun apart from the minor hiccups .![]()
I like shiny things.
Niiiice. I love me some VA80. Rode it down the grade this past summer with Fred and a few others. Tight corners, decent pavement, and it looks like leaves weren't too much of a problem for you. Don't you love that single lane section where the drop off is like 1000' . That's a haul for you from the triangle. We should do this next year and tie in some WVa roads that were even better. Something to ponder during the winter.

it was definitely a haul. wasn't the most miles i've done in a day, but trying to do 400 miles of slab + 200 miles of twisty was challenging for one day. i would've liked to get all the way over to va 160 but it wasn't happening that day.
