    Houston day rides?

Where can I head from the Houston area for some decent roads? I just moved here and need to find some roads with a few curves. Any help?

It is a bit of a ride but when I was going to school in Nacogdoches I would venture down on the East side of Lake Sam Rayburn. There are some fair roads in that area.

Go West young man. 2-3 hours you are well into the Hill Country with tons of great roads, Q and beer/music/chili/pie places to visit. Easy 400-500 mile loop with plenty of spare daylight, there are many deer in the area.

    Cheers

Not too many twisty roads around Houston. Here's a map with the local roads in West Houston:

If you can not open the link, let me know and I will email it to you.

    Check out these 2 websites:
Texas Motorcycle Roads & Rides - Best Texas motorcycle routes for planning great Texas motorcycle trips | Motorcycle Roads and Rides | MotorcycleRoads.com
Texas, Best scenic & twisty roads for motorcyclists, sports car drivers, tourists, and other travelers.

Texas has some beautiful roads, just not too many twisty ones. The Hill Country is nice as is the area west of San Antonio on Hwy 90. But that is a lot of I-10 riding for you to get there. I say head north of Houston into East Texas. Somewhere around Sam Houston & Davy Crockett National Forests.

Oh, and watch your stuff if you're living in Katy, TX. Or you'll get your shit jacked quick. Had a buddy who was working there for a 6 month stretch. In that time he had his truck broken into twice and his apartment once two days after he moved in.
    pffft....
