Has anyone done a DIY installation of the led indicators? if so do you need two flasher units, my dealer reckons you do but he hasnt installed any himself, doesnt make sense to have two![]()

Why on earth would you need/want 2 flasher units? I can't imagine the '11 is any different than my '06 in this regard. I replaced the stock flasher so I could get normal speed with LED turn signals. Alternately you can add resistors in parallel to the LED's to present a load similar to the incandescent bulbs but I don't recommend that. The resistors have to be pretty big power resistors and they will get hot. Waste of electrical power too.
I think you need to find a dealer who is not a dumb ass.![]()
Mine:
1 flasher (stock)
0 resistors
2006 with no electrical gremlins (knocking on wood)!
one wheel is too little and anything over 2 is just unnecessary. motorcycle is only the essense of mobility.
I put them on my 2011 in the front. Everything is cut and dry. The only issue I had was the new lights acted like a bulb was out. Way too fast. I just went to autozone and picked up a LED flasher. The only mod I had to do was pop two of the connectors out of the stock flasher plug and revers them. Works great now!
