    stupid parking lots

Well it happened... was leaving work this morning and dropped the bike on the left hand side.

Bryce- it was that stupid dip right where the lot meets the incoming road... that shit was ice. Went down it on my way out, the tires just slid right out.

Was only going 10-15 mph, but it seemed to slide forever.... lovely slight downhill road.

Frame/ engine sliders did their job, only real damage is the clutch lever snapped. No bodywork touched down at all, bar end mirror has a very small scratch.

    Ugh.

Sorry to hear man but glad you had sliders. That shit woulda been useful when the buyer dropped my cbr while test riding. Sliders are a good idea when done right. Which brand did you have? Should post up for the rest of the new s3 guys.

That's why motorcycles should never be riden <75 degrees.

    Glad it's not too bad.

    Re: stupid parking lots

I have the R&G stuff... Fork sliders, engine case covers, front & back frame sliders and spindle slider for the rear.

I'm a little suprised at how quickly the stuff ground down, but that is pretty rough pavement so that probably had something to do with it. Will post some pics tomorrow.

    Re: stupid parking lots

Milq had a post about the material a while back. Basically, the material had to be hard enough to stand up to sliding but soft enough not to cause bike to hop... or something along those lines.

Glad to hear it was only a little damage to the bike and not to you.
I used to own one, looking to add one back into the stable because I'm an Asshat.

Wouldn't it have been better not to wreck?

Ha, I still have a few small things on my speedy I havent fixed since my spill. Mine was a bit faster than 10. Glad you aren't busted up. I rode mine home, got in my truck and went to work. My back was killing me for a month.
