    Suspension Work

I'm looking at having some suspension work done on my 06 S3 since I'm a little over 200lbs. A local shop quoted me $450 for the front forks to replace the spring and custom revalving. For the rear shock he said it may hold, but if not it would at least need a replacement spring for $100+labor. Do you think it's worth having the suspension work done, or just try to adjust the stock suspension as best as I can?

Have you done any re-adjustments since you got/owned the bike? If not, I would be inclined to adjust them to your lovely 200lbs frame first - see how she feels... if it still handles like a piece of poo then spend the dosh.

First thing you'll want to do is set your sag. That's the most crucial adjustment that must be done as a baseline before you fool around with compression and rebound.

    my 2c anyways

Needs a complete new rear shock and the front sprung and valved. Or you could lose 30lbs

I would recommend going with having the bike sprung and set up for your weight. I am about 45 pounds more than you now and when I got it set up, I was even more than that (about 70). When I had the bike set to my weight, I could carry so much more speed through corners with more control. I say go for it.
Ride with confidence. Not your ego.
