Ok... so before everyone jumps on my ass for not posting pictures and or jumping online I'll simply say. I've been ****ing busy!!!! work/kids/working on bikes etc... I haven't even gone through all the pictures from the RMR... OK.. now go ahead and bitch if you want I'll still love you as much as I love TURKEY BURGERS!!!!!

My triple is sick and I need help; I'm debating purchasing these parts and or a new engine. Since It's near impossbile to get parts at a decent price I think I'm pretty much stuck looking for a new engine. Thoughts/Help would be appreciated. As far as new... I went to our local dealer and they gave me back a 5k invoice; its amazing these guys are in business and or anyone is dumb enough to pay those prices.

    Thanks in advance..

The major parts I know are needed are?
    1)crank
    2)#2 connecting rod
3)All connecting rod bolts and nuts. (There is a note in the manual stating the con rod bolts and nut must be replaced and never re-used. Jap engines, you can re-use them. I did a search last night but could not find much about it.)
    4)circlip for number two piston
    5)connecting rod plain bearings (all)
    6)crank main plain bearings (all)
7)engine gasket kit (if offered). Should include all gaskets and o-rings for an engine rebuild. If not, will have to order individual.
    output shaft oil seal
    9)engine oil
    10coolant
    11)engine oil filter
    12)engine sprocket nut

Mine makes an intermittent ticking noise at idle, not under load, the used oil looks like french pressed coffee (dark foam with a golden hue), and it's got 28,000miles. I recon I'll run it until it breaks hard...

Sorry about your mill 2ndChapter, but your avatar makes me sick to my stomach.

I've read about the Tigers losing #2 as well..

I wonder if improved oiling is the REAL reason they tilted the 1050 forward for 2011..

I am pretty sure there was a new crankcase & crank evolution late 2009, with new oil passages. I always thought they were mainly to supply stator cooling oil, but could have been related to the bearings too.

    Will,
for TP'ing my bike. I still have matted toilet paper stuck to the velcro for my tank bag.
