It's the battery, maybe a bad batt or a weak stator/RR, but the bike is cutting out to save the sprag. That's my .02

I just got off the phone with Triumph America. I was kind of right I guess, but wrong. The tech is telling me that at 10.3v the ECU will shut down and then restart itself.
During labored cranking(extended cranking, or cold cranking) the starter is drawing enough to drop it down that low, causing the ECU to restart, thus stopping the starting sequence.
Before you replaced your battery, I would try charging it up overnight on a full size charger(not battery tender) that desulfates. It may read fine with a multimeter, but not discharging to capacity as its supposed to..
the trip and clock resetting tells me ur battery is the bad guy here. Regardless, get the fooking cable!

Joe, you are a superstar! I ordered the cable last night :-)
I have had on and off problems like this for over a year.
Rat, what cable did you order? I am dying for a solution. I have had it to 3 different shops and nobody can figure it out.

Tuning cable to load the tune of death.
I have the same problem. Lost my tender and left the bike sitting ffor a ccouple months. Battery didnt like that. Ordered a new one yesterday.
