    Jamieson to Eildon road

    Farkin brilliant.
I rode this a couple of weeks ago with a mate on a Scrambler and it is unbelievable.
    Hard work but great.
It is 61 km with over 150 corners most of which are 35 kmph recommended speed switchbacks and great surface.

Duly noted. I have done Eildon, either to or from Mansfield - can't remember now, it was over 10 years ago, but I definitely enjoyed breaking the road rules in that corner of the state...

Yes Santa, we came down the Whitfield to Mansfield road and had some time to kill.
I noticed today that I had actually scalloped the front tyre from braking, something I haven’t done for years being a fat lazy bastard but i was trying to make Dave work on his Scrambler.
Even so we had to stop half way and there wasn’t a pub!

    I’ve been down shed today.
    Postage coming late next week.

Did the Whitfield to Mansfield Road on the way back from Wollongong. It is a favourite of mine. Haven't done the Jamison to Eildon Road yet. Maybe this summer.

I still reckon the Great Alpine Road is the best in Australia.....except for the wind coming off the snow at Mount Hotham.

I did the Great Alpine Road in January and have mixed feelings.
Partly due to the coppers about 15km east of Hotham and then the thick fog and whichever moron had decided to spread fine gravel all over the road almost all the way from Hotham to Bright.

Luckily that was gone, but my forearms were really pumped up by the time I got to Harrietville from all the hard braking. I think that section is better going up rather than down.

Road conditions were perfect and not a cop in sight.

My biggest prangs have been uphill but I really don’t enjoy downhill much.
Hmm, might be something in that.
Might have to organise a steak sanga meet up in Eildon.
