    Diy custom exhaust

So at the moment I have a dual high mount gpr exhaust on my 2011 1050. Most of my bikes throughout the years have had a shorty single exhaust. I was thinking that id like to make the high mounts into a one sided dual shorty exhaust. Has anyone done something similar or seen anything like it done

    Hello,
I'm running a 2012 S3R. I bought it stock and like you wanted to change it up. I found that all the aftermarket mufflers were really high priced for what you get, so I went a different route. I went to the junkyard!! I researched the different mufflers and measured the inlet and outlet sizes. The one i settled on is from a 2009/2010 GSXR 750 titanium stock muffler. It bolts right on, reduces the weight and lowers the C of G. I made a new hanger for it and was all set. I considered changing the tune on Tunecu, but did not find that I needed to.

This set-up worked but I wasn't satisfied so i gently heated the inlet pipe and was able to coax it into a slight bend that tucked it in close to the rear wheel. It now is protected by the passenger footpeg when I have them installed. Since i made some rearset brackets for the pegs, as you can see in the picture, I dimpled the can a bit to make room for the brake linkage.
I've done this to my Sprint as well and even disassembled one of the mufflers out of curiosity. They are really well built and do the job of reducing the sound level. All this for about $100.00 on Craig's list.

Here is an idea. Why not post your BMW question on a BMW forum?
