Thanks to all who replied- even the smart ass twirps with no advice to add. I'll definitely try hanging off more and getting a pair of stickers.

I was looking at the class offered by Kieth Code, it seems to be well run, plenty informative, and hands on. It's my goal to take it next year when it comes to Barber, but I hopefully have lots of miles ahead of me until then.

    read this book:

Twist of The Wrist by Keith Code

Don't just go hanging off the bike without understanding how and why first.

I think the new one looks like a plastic little bitch compared to the muscled street brawler I've got in my garage...
The new Tuono was on the cards, but it is even uglier than the new speedy

I prefer Total Control by Lee Parks. It's more oriented towards going fast on the street, whereas Keith Code's book is all track.

BIGGEST mistake guys make IMO, is entering a corner with TOO MUCH speed.

sketchy line, sketchy exit=slow and unstable.

all my braking is done and over before I even turn in, it's all throttle from there.

The bike has the most control and stability under power.

brake hard while you are still going straight, back on the throttle and pick up a smooth clean line.

first thing I learned in racing, to go fast, you gotta know how to stop..

and ofcourse, Slow is smooth, Smooth is fast..

Your welcome. BTW - too many young guy posers hang off at silly slow speeds in corners. They think they look cool, but are just knuckleheads looking to put a knee down at a silly slow speed. I pass them all the time without hanging off at all. Code's book and video are great. But get yourself to the track. Reg Pridmores Class schools are fantastic classrooms. He can take anyone and uplift their skills significantly, even guys like you.

Yup. Charging a corner = unstable ride=unintended bar input=slow. Set your entry speed, clamp the bike with your legs to relieve weight from bars, good body and head position, push bar on inside of turn, glide right through apex and power out. See, easy to be smooth = quick = high corner speeds..

    Actually you don't.

Get David Hough's first book "Proficient Motorcycling" and Keith Code's first book "A Twist of the Wrist"(?) and read.

Learn about cornering lines and then set you corner entry speed to safe and learn to EXIT the corner faster. Practice late apexes because early apexes are easier to learn and more dangerous if your corner entry speed is too high. Then learn when to apply each.
