    Turple.

Seeing as I can't update my build thread for some reason....
I got the turbo triple down the 1/4 mile over the weekend, only got 3 good passes and I'm still learning the clutch pack with triple weight springs.
Plenty of ponies going up in the air as I learn the new launch. The other bike on the slip is a 2016 speedy with pipe, no tune. He's pretty devvo he can't break into the 10s but I think he's doing pretty well for a near stock bike.
The bike still has plenty more in it, maybe low 10s in current trim. I will get this bike into the 9s.. maybe not this month, but before the year is out.
If you take a close look at the numbers at each increment you can see the difficulty getting off the line, but somewhere after the 60ft the turbo comes into play.

I never did get down into the 10's on my 05 with CRM's and the right tune. Got a few 11.1x times, but mostly in the 11.2-11.4 area. In three or four years of racing regularly.

I think someone who was really really good might get it just under 11, but not very much more.

Gee, I dunno which thread to respond to...

Looks like you haven't strapped the front down, so I'd guess that a set of Brock's Lowering straps, should help to keep the front down. I remember one of my mates getting high 10s on his 05 Blade (pipe and tune), then dropping to low 10s and 10 flat with lowering straps. Might be a worthwhile investment.

Interested in Crash's opinion on Lowering straps...

Yeah sorry if I double posted. Last post I can see on the build thread is Watto sayin' nice work... and I've posted a few things since then?

Anyway you're right, no race prep at all aside from dropping the rear pressure a little. Will do straps and adjustable lowering link next. Still working on some forged internals and then getting boost to reference selected gear. Subject to R&D I'll probably be looking at 1st 4psi, 2nd 6psi, 3rd 10psi, 4th 14psi, 5th 20psi 6th 20psi... or something like that. Was just out to get a baseline. Apparently the drag racing community in Brisbane rubbishes Barnett clutch plates for launching, says they're too tacky and suggested going OEM plates with same heavy duty springs, maybe some thinner steel to slip an extra plate or two in..... I might find myself at a catch 22 with clutch pack I think.

Haven't had a chance to run my speedy at the strip yet, best pass I have done though is a 10.2 @141mph on a bone stock 2004 R1. Can't wait to see how my speedy pulls.

I strapped my 06 955i Tona when Crash and I were racing regular. Just remember to not lower too far. It's going to come up regardless, don't pop fork seals when it comes down. Crash has a great loop of us, hopefully he will post it again, as it's one of my favorites. I was strapped just about right
Dead or alive I've got a 45, and I never miss.

    Yeah, fück you.

That said, I missed a shift that run. There's no way he was killing me that hard in the 100 yards. (He usually started pulling away at about the 1/8th, and ate my lunch by the 1/4 mile.)

Another thing, it's well known that Barnett clutches on this bike are bollocks. Stick with OEM, and like you said, maybe some heavier springs.

any thoughts on eliminating the use of thick steel and friction plates and getting more thin plates on there for overall more friction? As long as the stack height is within tolerances should be ok??
