I'd be all over that like a flannel!
I think the new one looks like a plastic little bitch compared to the muscled street brawler I've got in my garage...
The new Tuono was on the cards, but it is even uglier than the new speedy

yep. really putting some thought into it. If I can get the time off, def doing it. If not, I will do it as soon as I retire. I'm thinking an XR400 will be the way to go..

I've always wanted to do it. I think a tiger 800 would be a great bike for it. Count me in. Riding The Trans-America Trail - Motorcycle USA

I think even the 800 would be a little big, doo-able, but you would have more "fun" on something a little smaller. I have been reading alot on the T800, and unfortunately, the BMW F800 pretty much trounces it, so I would go that route..

it would def crush the XR400, but I really don't think it would actually be able to finish the trip.

The XR400 is aircooled, and just a super basic machine. The KTM is much more advanced.

That being said, I just don't think the KTM would complete the trip start to finish when compared to the XR400.

If I purchased each machine, and outfitted them the same, I would say the KTM would give it up around the end of the Colorado. My opinion is based on the fact there isn't much that state of the art engineering can do once you no longer have any money for gas, cuz you spent it all buying the bright orange bike with the state of the art engineering..

It is a good looking little beastie though..
