I used a Sunline on my old 07 Speedie and now have a Tusk on my 10', neither have unfortunately been the cure all I was hoping, not sure how the length compares between the two. There is room for my current one to be slightly shorter. Maybe some of it is the fact I just do better pushing down to upshift than pulling up. Nevertheless, bikes that I've owned before that could only be setup standard (Vmax, CRF450 Supermoto, numerous dirtbikes) haven't given me very many issues. The Speedie transmissions have always felt a bit sloppy to me. Ever since I hurt my left hand I've shifted clutchless, if I get everything perfectly timed and mimic a quick shifter it shifts great, but not so great otherwise. Shifting with the clutch doesn't seem to make any difference. I'll be trying Amsoil full synthetic in the next day or so, will be interested to see if it does anything. I think the OP owes us a kick back for keeping his ad bumped up, even though in typical Speedtriple.com style it's completely off topic for the most part!

Best solution is gear lever from 02-04 Speed Triple (or Daytona)

Interesting. What about it makes it do better than a moto shifter?

Did some checking on bike bandit after not seeing any new ones one ebay. 93 bucks for the lever and 7 bucks for the rubber sleeve, what a deal!

Yeah, in addition to the more comfortable rubber part. It was kind of a stupid question, ate a few too many "special hard candies". After years of not touching the stuff, having a dispensary that's a 2hr high speed and wheelie filled ride away is turning out to be a bit too much of a temptation.

Anybody tell me why they went to the more complex linkage system, any advantages?

If they had just used a higher quality ball joint rod like on the OP's that doesn't wear prematurely it wouldn't be bad at all. Looking at finding a way to bolt an aftermarket rod on my current setup.
