    08/09 Fork Tube diameter

Anyone have the specs for the fork tube diameter just above and below the lower triple clamp for 08/09 model year? I searched and found a non-specific post which did not indicate what model year it was for.
I am going to mount a radar detector remote sensor on the fork leg but need the correct diameter to order the proper clamp.

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure the diameter at bottom clamp is 55mm and at top clamp 52mm. Best doublecheck before ordering.

My 2006 measures 51.89mm immediately below the top clamp. The silver cap measures 51.35mm.

I failed to look for my drawings at work but had a set of calipers in the shed, not as accurate as a micrometer but I'm betting the spec is 52mm.

Edit: My bad, I didn't see where you mentioned the bottom clamp.

    Re: 08/09 Fork Tube diameter

Here's the set-up I had on my ZRX1200 which was recently killed in combat with an SUV. A whistler Cruisader. Nothing fancy like a V1- I dont need to know the make and model of the radar gun being pointed at me, just something to tell me there was activity in the area. The main console will be mounted on a RAM mount on the handlebar. The front radar/laser sensor will be mounted on a steering damper 2 piece fork clamp and the rear sensor under the tail light similar to what I have pictured.

All of the parts i needed to make it happen are on the way except the fork clamp. This thing has saved my ass a few times and more than paid for itself so I'd be an idiot to get rid of it. Might as well keep the odds a bit more even and save myself the money in the long run. This bike is easier to speed on than a ZRX. 90 feels like 70.

Thanks a ****ing lot for the heart attack!!!!

I think to myself, no problem, I have verniers and an '08 in the shed, it's a short walk, I'll do the friendly thing.

I get to the shed and turn on the light......NO SPEEDY! ****! WHERE'S MY RIDE! ****! CALL THE COPS! **** AGAIN!

I bolt inside and notice my helmet and jacket aren't on the stand....STOP.

That's right, I had to drop some stuff off after work and drove the ute home.

    D'oh!

I'll post the sizes when I get to work.

    Re: 08/09 Fork Tube diameter

I came up with almost 55mm also. Thanks for the research.

Now if I could only find a place to buy a 55mm clamp-- for anything. I was looking to use a steering damper 2 piece clamp but the largest I have found after hours of searching the web is 54mm. Besides chrome-covered HD junk out there, the market for 55mm is slim.
