the above are all symptoms of poor stator cooling and R/R design.
I always have a trickle charger,no weak battery, charging, slow cranking etc

    Don’t stress it mate.
You should be able to find a series RR for $70-$150.
    Second hand even cheaper.
The wreckers/importers up at Slacks Creek should have used ones cheep cheep
    from UJMs.
A Triumph genuine loom link is about $50.
A tiny voltmeter is even cheaper at about $5 on Etray but check the Aussie East coast rally thread for the latest fun when voltmeters failed and folk thought Stators were dying.

Ok thanks for that AA. Reading Sparti's thread, it sounds like an updated casing is also needed, to fit the bigger stator I'm guessing to improve cooling with better channels for the oil. Just wondering what mods Koko made when fitting the new lights ?

Does anyone have a photo of the stock regulater so I can compare with what I have fitted. Not sure if mine has had an upgrade. I checked the charge on my battery to see if it was being over charged when the engine is running. It was reading 11.99 with no load, 13.7 - 14.3 at 3500- 4000rpm which I think is about right. If there was a problem with the regulater wouldn't it put more juice back to the battery.

Thanks for doing this AA, mine is the same one. Looks like I have to make some changes so I can keep the LEDs, I was hoping mine was going to be the upgraded version. Hope you enjoyed the game yesterday.
