I think a series RR is the best bet particularly if you want to keep the LED headlights.

I would say that with LEDs, the '08-'10 stator/cover/MOSFET is a must
    Thanks.

From my experience, much easier said than done with these bikes, especially 05-07!

I'm on my second rectifier and third stator in the last year on my parts bin special Speed consisting of mostly 10' parts with a 99' frame. After the first replacement stator and upgraded Mosfet rectifier, I was foolish and didn't change out the 3 prong stator plug that's notorious for having meltdowns. Ended up having a meltdown and cooked the stator. Was again foolish and just ASSumed the stator was the only thing bad and replaced just the stator. After less than 2 months, it got cooked again which is where I'm currently at. Checked the rectifier and found it to be bad as well which is why I believe the stator got cooked so quickly. What Joe said about bleeding off excess voltage makes sense. Due to a break in the wiring harness that I've never been able to locate, the only way my headlights will work is by powering the relay directly from the battery. My high/low beam switch is essentially now an on/off switch, high beam is high beam, low beam is off. I generally always have them off during the day due to the chances of leaving them on accidently after parking the bike. Thinking now that it might be adding to my problems.

Anyone have any experience with Racetech stators? After a couple of electrosport ones, I've decided to try something different this time around.

I currently have a RM Regulator which is a Mofset type . I'm thinking of replacing it with a SH847 type which Rick's has. Also I can get one from Roadster.

    I tire of this crapola

Are you talking about the Stator or Regulator Rectifier here NT?

Chewie, I must have been distracted when I wrote that. I currently have a RM Regulator which is a Mofset type.

    I just ordered a SH847 regulator.

That's what I went with, I think it will solve your stator problems particularly with those LED lights.
