RM stator after about five months

I have a 2007 with about 30,000 miles. I installed a new RM Stator in November 2018. I mostly ride for fun but commute about two times a week for 26 miles roundtrip.

We havent had a lot of the typical riding weather we get in So Cal during winter. So rode a bit less than typical.

Looks all burnt and was only charging at RPM over 3k

    Yikes!

Was the previous stator cooked too? Or was the change out precautionary?

Yeah, the stock one was cooked but actually looked better than that one!

The RM Stator was only charging at higher RPM.

I am running LEDs. They are the sealed type that replace the stock unit.

I think the LEDs might be the culprit, you need the standard bulbs to bleed power(ie heat) out of the charging system.

I would say that with LEDs, the '08-'10 stator/cover/MOSFET is a must
