I ran my 07' like this and liked it. However, my 10' came with stock gearing (18/45) and found that I like it better all around. Living at 5,000ft, all my clutchless wheelies are in first gear which works a lot better with the stock gearing due to the fact it doesn't rev out as quickly. If I lived closer to sea level I might be inclined to go back to the 17/45, but for stock gearing, the 18/45 works amazingly well overall.

    Thumbs up gearing

i went 18/45 a couple of months ago (new - DID -Stock front sprocket- supersprox gold) and it has been really good for the canyons.. lots of grunt down low and maintains a better power band for spirited / twisty riding tho i really dread freeway speeds, feels sluggish compared to the stock gearing. I dont really ride on the freeway and this is probably best for me to keep my license.
