    Exhaust Question Re:05-06 vs 07

Quick question... my 07 is an early model with the 02 sensor under the peg and not in the bulging mid pipe as on the late 2007. Can I just order a pipe meant for 05-06s or should I see if they offer a specific early 07 pipe? There seems to be many more options for 05-06 models versus the 07s. FYI, my vin # is in the 280s which should qualify it as a late model but is still has the plastic tank and older pipe set-up. Buying a pipe or differentiating between model years shouldnt be so confusing and most online vendors are not very knowledgable about Triumphs... "they still make those?" I feel like I'm special ordering a bong from a head shop and the clerk just finished his "smoke break". ****!

you're a lucky **** and you can order '06 pipe options...many more to choose from and it's a BIT easier to chisel that pre-cat out of the end of that header pipe too.

How about 05 pipe options? Are they the same as 06s? I guess I need to avoid ordering 07 pipes because they will probably be the wrong variety (ie. heat shield and bulging midpipe/02 sensor).

05 and 06 are the same.

Unless the pipe was on a scorched yeller bike. The scorched yeller ones have a restrictor that reduces power output by at least 10hp.

I've also heard that the yellow ones dont even have three functional cylinders... heard that they were twins with a ghost cylinder.

Naw the yeller ones don't have spark plugs. They tried it, but the squirrels that were powering the engine didn't respond well to being shocked.
