Welcome. Grab some and join the "when will the new big motor arrive" club. Couple "good" info leaks on the new 675 derived adventure bikes and press interviews claimed 5 (?) new models. Those 5 will also include the new Sprint tourer and other similar updates on the big twin or even r3 drive train could make up the rest. Pretty expensive in these tough times to do r+d and get certifiction on multiple new engines for small OEM's like Triumph. We'll know for sure in a few weeks on the Triumph as well as V4 Tuono's, etc.

    cheers

I'd be happy to have an all-new 900-999 motor based on the 675. Lighter, more powerful, and much more agile (and increased ground clearance) than the 1050. Ideally, a new frame similar to the 675's throwback to the tube frame of the 1050 and earlier. Bigger generally means heavier, which isn't what I'm looking for at this point. I'd love something as light and high-powered as the Streetfighter.

    ^+1

No doubt it'll make plenty of power. I'd love a "light" well balanced platform with top shelf components standard or at least as an "S or R" type option from day 1. The S3, Tiger and Sprint GT work ok, but they are really due for a major overhaul if they hope to stay competative. The 3 is still great fun and value, but saying they're getting long in the tooth is being kind. Couple more weeks and I'll know if I'll run the Goose for another year or buy a new ??

Don't hold your breath, aprilliorange. I think you'll see a new Daytona or Speed Triple with the updated 770 engine (based on the Daytona 675 engine) long before you'll see any new "Big Daytona".

    Not that I wouldn't buy a 770 Speed Triple in a heartbeat.

Having a 675 Street Triple and a 770 Speed Triple would make zero sense. It'll need to be at least 250+cc between the two, or they're just taking sales away from the Street Triple.

    Re: 2011 Speed Triple ?

What I'm saying Kuhlka is that they may increase the displacement of the Street and change the name to "Speed Triple" while dropping the Street name entirely and eliminating the 1050 from the lineup. The 955i-1050 engine is getting a little old and decrepit.

I'm not saying I hope for this, but that it is a possibility. There are essentially no rumors of a new engine on the horizon right now.

    Re: 2011 Speed Triple ?

I doubt that because they've been pretty successful in racing the 675. Why bump themselves out of their winning class? Seems like it would make more sense to release a new big bike in 2012, unless they leave the 675 alone and just bump up the street to 770. IMO, the Street Triple is just fine as is though. The Speed Triple should be a good lump bigger with power numbers on par with the Ducati Streetfighter. They're obviously not doing it this year, but I'd be willing to bet they release a new big Daytona and/or Speed Triple next year.
