Keen to get this seen to. Was fine when I got the bike a few months back, then suddenly stopped working. No sign of any attempted robbery. Bike was nearby at home and under many cameras constantly when at work.
is a 2011 model, 13k on the clock.
Have tried the usual, finding the right spot for the mechanism to work, not full, just off, a little more, full lock etc. No joy.
Yes I have a disc lock and have been using that, the one time I forgot the bungee chord, I launched and fell down!
Still, if I would like to sell the bike, which I might, this steering lock issue will need fixing. Concerns instantly arise of sourcing a new/ replacement triple clamp. And then I read some other forum posts of a mechanic saying he's never found one issue of mechanical breakdown of the steering lock on a speedy, always human error which could be fixed with the right lubrication. Well, I tried spraying some wd40 down the keyhole, but no change.
Little nervous to take the thing to a mechanic before having any idea what to expect.
Just when you think it can't get worse, Crash comes along and informs you that not only is the glass not half full, but it is stolen and contains a mix of horse semen, urine, laxative and viagra, right after you swallowed a mouthful...
