Am on my 6th S3 over the years first being a 98, then a 01, 05, 11, 15 and now a 2022 Matte Silver. I am in love but have lots of questions. First off...shouldn't you just carry a spare battery for the key fob instead of carrying the mini backup? Thanks...

I have a key fob case that I keep my fob in, along with a extra battery. Works great for me.

I wonder if the key fob is draining while you are out riding and if so why couldn't they make it able to be plugged in on a charger when you get home or even on the bike. Better yet....why tf couldn't they just give out a damn key. Too much tech.

Completely agree. With everything going to more and more tech, it seems like it would have been a very small thing to make the fob rechargeable.

How long do these fob batteries last? My Vette fob goes for years.

I'm not sure how long they last. I've had mine about a year and a half and it's still going.

I bought my '22 about 3 weeks ago as I was waiting for a deal on a left over and the salesman told me he put in a new fob battery. Don't know if he needed to but he told me a few stories of guys stranded with a dead battery and something about leaving their coat on the bike while away from it and I guess that somehow kept the fob engaged and operating...and their's was drained.

That's good to know. I usually turn mine off and take it with me when I leave the bike out of site. People suck and I don't trust them.

500 mile service tomorrow and Evo Tech tail tidy. Can't wait to get the prong off the a$$ end like every other S3 I've owned. Why do they put those things on? Looking for a nice fly catcher or headlight cowell. Then a shorty pipe. Maybe Pro Race S1.
