2003, Can i use a magnetic tank bag?

Look in your tank when you fill up. If it's off white plastic then the answer is probably no because your tank is probably plastic. I'm pretty sure your tank is plastic like the one on my '02.

Unless your bike is one of a kind it has a plastic tank.

From what I understand the only bikes with metal tanks are some of the 07s.

I cannot be that difficult :gayaway: . Knock it and you hear from sound which one is it. If that does not do the job, grap one of those fancy magnets of your fridge door and try it on the tank.

It will probably be plastic,if that's the case have a look at the Quick engage sport tank bag from Bags Connection,you can get them from Twisted Throttle over there.I got one and it works great. :beer:

I use a really nice large magnetic bag on mine, strapped down with the sewn-on hangers, with the magnetic flaps folded under. Works a treat, and didn't have to lay out more for a non-mag bag.

My 03 is plastic. I recommend the Motech quick-release fuel cap mount. I've got the standard ring on my 03 955i and it is very handy not having to mess with straps on long trips during fuel stops. Plus, they have wired ones now that can power a tank bag so you can have all your electronic gadgets in there with just a single cable running into the tank ring. I'm probably going to go that route for my 1098.
