Hi,

After 25k miles the head gasket in my ST 955i is gone (there is burbling oil mixed with the coolant) I’ve looked at the following two options but none of them worked: fix the engine (too expensive) or try to sell the bike as-is (no one seems interested).

I’m wondering if replacing the engine may be the solution, but I know 2000 was a transition year then I’m not sure what year/size engines are good candidates to search. my VIN ends in 105393.

I know a guy who put a 1050 motor into a Daytona a few years back. I have no idea what was involved. But the bike was sweet. He rode it for a week or so from California to Colorado and back the day after the engine swap. Most of the members from then are no longer around this site except for one who periodically checks in. His name is Hockey. I think he played a big part in the swap. Not sure that would work for an ST or not though.
