And I'm not just talking the FYF, though the speedy has that in spades.
Bikes used to be my primary mode of transportation. I've averaged about 15k a year for the last 20 years. But for the last several years I haven't been riding as much for a lot of reasons. The speedy has never been my primary transportation, and I only have about 10k on it now. I haven't really been out on her much lately. I took her to work a couple times this week, and really wasn't a lot of fun. It was kinda cool, and wet, and I've had a couple of nasty experiences lately with the 208s before they were warm, so I was riding tentatively. Like I said, not a lot of fun. So I was thinkin'', maybe this really isn't the bike for me. Maybe I oughta really go back to the Bandit as my only bike. Maybe I really AM too old. But I took the speedy out this weekend several time. Nothing special, just a couple hundred miles spread around the city over a couple of days. And it all just clicked again - splitting lanes whenever I had the chance, not just when I HAD too - railing a couple corners, even pulling a couple of little wheelies. In short, riding her like she was meant to be ridden - no, like she demands to be ridden. It was great - I'm keeping her after all. Can't wait for the ride to Monterey for MotoGP.
