Bypassing the oil cooler temporarily?

So I'm still waiting for a replacement oil cooler. My friend had an idea of bypassing the oil cooler and just put a hose straight hose there instead. What do you think? Is it totally bad idea?

I've understood that the oil doesn't run too hot on speedy. And it's still quite cold here. Around 50F. So I'm thinking it could be actually done.

It could be done, but oil life may suffer. The stock sump is fairly small.

BUT, I wouldn't think it would be too much of an issue with the cooler weather for just a couple of weeks at most.
I would second that, as long as you have full synthetic in there. You do have full synthetic, don't you?

And I would avoid drag racing, track days, burn outs and top speed runs.

Well then what the hell is he supposed to do? ;)
If Mikey-S3 gets his totaled, maybe he'll donate an oil cooler....
