Thats a bloody good shout Stuck..

My tuneboy arrived from Oz this morning and am only waiting for my pal to upgrade my lap top. Once thats done I'm gunna load up Dev's tune he was kind enough to send to me.

I'm running stock header but have a spare with pre cat removed waiting to go on. I'd thought about doing the grinding job on the ports but wanted to do it in stages. SAI present; Zard slip on no baffle.

We have a pro tuner some 75 miles away; he does my mates gixer 1000 sidecar outfit. He's got a good reputation too so I've considered using his services myself to create my own specific tune. Which of course I will be happy to share.

In the mean time I need to walk before running. I get the Lap top back in the next few days; all fixed up with XP.

Email back to Oz and bingo; we're on.

I was thinking (never good) about the fact that there is no "proper" tuneboy tune out there for the Zard cans (or really any single). I propose that we find the best candidate in our Zard clan with a stock header, who is located near a GOOD tuner who knows tuneboy. We should then pool a little money collectively, to pay for dyno tuning before a pre-cat removal, then remove the cat, and dyno tune a modified header with the zard. I think that the whole process shouldn't take too long, or cost any of us too much. We all win, with a badass tune for the zard, with and without header mods. Maybe too much of a pain in the ass? I dunno, its late, I am tired, and this may not make sense to me tomorrow. :wtf:

I dont suppose the Queens English pounds are any use to you boys but I'm happy to send some funds over the pond to make a contribution.

I should be up an running this weekend. Just got my lap top back and have loaded the disc ready to rock and roll...

Wish me luck.

Hey Cheap,
I'm up for helping out. If you PM me your details I'll get hold of 50 US dollars (£25 quid to the UK boys watching) and send them over.

We have mostly eu 95 (unleaded) here in the UK.
My interest is mainly in Zard slip on; no baffle. I'm not too sure if the spare header I have has been modified at the exhaust ports. The wall thickness is definately thinner at the ports than some pictures of standard that i've seen. It has definately had the internal baffle removed so will fit it as it is.
Stock air cleaner in but am keen to buy an aftermarket one so its cool if thats what is done.
SAI present. (cant see the point of taking it off)

I'm going with a mate to check out a place that may be able to do me a custom tune near where I live. I'll know better on Tuesday.

Good shout; I guess its up to Cheap and Dev as they are doing all the Donkey work. For me "the more the merryer" as if were not for the 675 group buy I would not have my Tuneboy.
Mind you more people means more options to be covered. Not an easy one to answer.

For me its 95 octane EU unleaded. Zard(no baffle), modded or stock header (I can switch either to suit but am on stock just now), stock filter (or aftermarket as I'd like to buy one anyway), with SAI.
I guess my main preference is something with the SAI in place. I've ran a few non SAI tunes over the weekend with my SAI present and Zard no baffle. I got some seriously loud backfires (and flames according to my mates). I think i've read somewhere that Non SAI tunes disable the SAI anyway hence the backfires.

I had a major set back yesterday. Out on a run out with Non S3 mates. ZX10, R1, Busa, GSXR 750 X 2 etc (you can imagine the rest). In a sleepy English village sub 30mph one of the Queens cuntstabulary followed me and gave a Vehicle rectification notice for my licence plate and Zard. Did he pick on anybody else? Did he Fcuk.
Now I have to go back to a exhaust with British Standard marking for a while at least; I need to fit a licence plate the size of Texas and take the whole thing along to an inspection station for verification.

I've just completed 200 miles with my Art cans on baffle in. What a nightmare. Baffles out is OK but not as good as the Zard.

Just completed 200+ miles with the full repetior of mods to the S3.
Zard.
no baffle.
no SAI (blocked with a 6mm bolt and rubber washers).
pre cat out.
header modified.
Pipercross air filter.
Tuneboy and Dev's version 1 tune.
The bike feels great. No flat spots as before; good starting (never an issue before); accurate speedo which now agrees with Tomtom. She pulls like a train too right thru the rev range; however since I got a "producer" from the police I have become increasingly aware of the noise from the Zard which feels even louder to the ear since i've done the head and precat work. Today I did the dreaded deed and put the baffle back in for my 15 mile run to work. I was pleasantly surprised as to how good the bike ran. Still smoothe and very responsive. I'm not really sure if there is a penalty to pay for the noise reduction especially on routine riding.

I think the Blue bastards are stalking me... I took the baffle out for the ride home. Guess what a "Jam sandwich" Patrol car to you US boys, followed me part way home. I though Oh fuck not again.
False alarm; he turned off to chase some real criminals

BlackB1ade - The map should be perfect. I will send the Zard maps out to those who paid for the dyno time first. Later they will be available to all.

On some stock headers, the flange castings intrude into the exhaust flow - some by a good bit. The flange porting and polishing corrects this and leaves a small step to reduce low rpm reversion back into the port. This helps improve low rpm and part throttle engine response.

The polishing helps prevent carbon built up.

I will be out of contact a bit the next two days - on the dyno! :)

Hey boys?

I've been a bit pre occupied with coils and fuel and filters and splutters and hesitation and stuff. It feels like I've woken from a long sleep.

What happened with the Zard / Tuneboy / header mod set up thing?

I'm running Devs tune with my full header mod inc pre cat out, port matched, Zard slip on (db out) and Pipercross filter.

Any news boys?
