Check your bloody front sprocket nut

There have been quite a few posts wherein members have found their front sprocket nut loose.
Well I took off my sprocket cover off (just five bolts) and sure enough the nut was loose. Only the tab (lock) washer kept it from unscrewing completely.
Some blue loctite and a torque of 132nm plus the tab washer will hopefully keep the bugger in place, but I'll be keeping an eye on it.
CHECK YOURS NOW

'08 with 5700km and the nut was tight.

Interesting tho was the chain lube and road gravel stuck in it. The best thing, there was no sign of the new chain lube I've been using for the last 1000km or so (it's white) I was told it wouldn't fling off, and I'm believing the sales rep now.

It's Silkoline Chain Gel.

Stuff it, now I have a job for the weekend :violent1:
You guys got me thinking now....................I have a slight knock noise coming from the rear I can hear at low speed on and off gas. I always thought that was from the play in the rear caliper anti rotation locking pin.

Holy thread resurrection , Batman!

I just changed my sprockets for the first time. As you could easily predict if you're an OG here and remember this thread... the nut on the front sprocket was loose enough to spin off with my fingers, and held on only by the bent washer designed to do just that. No negative symptoms, but something you should go check.
tl;dr pertinent info:
8mm socket for the cover bolts
36mm socket (1-7/16 inch socket) sprocket nut tightened to 132mn (97 ft-lbs).
