Personally I've never had a problem on either of my Macs on any network, BUT when using a very old and slow PC at a friends house I've had the same problem. My iBook works just fine with his DSL connection, but that nasty old 250 MhZ AMD with 256 megs of ram and Windblows 98 has issues.
