Mate's looking to buy a new speedy in the next week or so, had a test ride and was instantly converted.
When looking at the Speedies in the show room at Windies in Leicester (GB) we noticed the bad finish of the cylinder heads and barrels. Paint was flaking from around the tappet covers and the overal finish was as rough as a badgers arsehole, watch out!!

Sounds like a bad batch - poor QC. My engine paint still looks fine.
Mine is still smooth and shiny too, maybe they put the new "matte black" engine on that one ;D
