Devious,
I have PM'd a guy on Bobistheoilguy.com, screen name Sunruh. I think he lives to run various oils through his dirt bike, do a used oil analysis on it, and then post the results. It is amayzing how many motorcycle specific (read expensive) oils do not protect any better nor last any longer than dino oils. Extended oil drains may be catch words in the automotive world but motorcycle oils that must not only lube the engine but also the transmission ans clutch need changing often...somewhere around 1000-1500 miles. Sunruh has tested a number of oils and likes Exxon SuperFlo (red bottle) 20w-50 and Shell Rotella T 15w-40. These are dino oils that can be bought for $1.75 to $2.25 a quart vs $8 for a quart for Amsoil motorcycle specific 10w-40 oil. I run my S3 hard and change the oil every 1000 miles. I do have some of the Amsoil motorcycle specific oil that I'm going to be using come the next oil change. I'll do a seat-of-the-pants-shifting-test to see how it holds up.
Fred
