I've been lurking around here off and on for a few hours and reading all of the stories that have been posted. My favorite is about the women who pulled up in a 7 series BMW and went on a rant about how BMW doesn't make motorcycles. I think I would've gotten off my bike and plastered my ass all over her window, but that's just me though. The story below is why I came to this site. It may sound boring to some of you, but to me, it's going to make my summer. See you all around.

One of my neighbors at the end of my street has a new Gixxer 1000 and is teasing my next door neighbor about it. So, when I'm outside they both give me hell, because I don't ride anymore. I've always wanted a Speed Triple and my wife surpised me the other day and told me that she'd get me another bike for my b-day (June)! She doesn't like it because she thinks crotch rockets have a sleeker look, but she's willing to get it for me anyway (popped in MI:2 to show her the chase scene). My next door neighbor hates anything that doesn't have fairings and the guy at the end of the street - well this is his fourth bike (3rd Gixxer) in the last two years. I love the S3 simply because it goes against what everyone thinks I would ride, and it's a beautiful piece of machinery. I can't wait to get back on two wheels again!

Definitely get yourself an S3, you'll be glad you did. Especially if you haven't had a bike for a while. As far as those other knuckleheads are concerned, don't let em' give you shit about the S3. They probably wouldn't know a good quality bike if it came up and shat on their faces!! They're too busy following the mainstream bikes that their ignorance of other european models clouds their judgement. Oh yeah, and welcome to the club. :wave:

I'm not worried at all about anybody giving me a hard time about buying a S3. In fact, I want them too. I love going against the mainstream. Everything that I've done in my life has been just the opposite of what people thought, and I've been successful at it. You're right though, most people wouldn't know a good quality bike if it came and shat a turd right up under their nose. It was either the S3 or a Honda VFR, and I picked the bike with the higher "wow, what kind of bike is that?" factor.

You know when everyone tells me that I'm crazy, I ask them how do they know that I'm the crazy one? And that it could be them that's actually crazy and I'm sane. I can't wait to transfer from getting to got. It was in the mid to high 70's today and that's all I heard or saw were bikes. Not one of them any kind of Triumph. In fact, I've only seen one and it was a Daytona.

That's okay zooplancton, I like Buells too. I know the S3 is a much better bike, but the Buell has a quirky enough design that it's fascinating. If the engine is ever improved upon, I'd get a Firebolt XB9R. Of course, after I get an S3 and do some mods. By the way, I like the bike in your avatar.
