so i guess i am partly the idiot in this amzingly tragic part of my life. as someone on here may know i have ben waiting about a month and a half for my new gas tank and about 6 months total to get my bike back in working order after a tupid crash that took place about a month after i got the bike. its an 05 and seems to be a distant dream. i recieved the new 07 green tank yesterday, as you may have seen its an 07 tank on an 05 bike.....prob. the tank is amazing and metal! which is way cool. big problem is. the whole that you put the fuel pump in is about 2 inches too small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway have to run but thought i would let you who can ride know how lucky you are.

I hate that feeling.... That feeling that you are two inches too small. :jerkit:

That's a total bummer. I'd check eBay for a used plastic tank.

I understand the edges are a little smoother than the sharper plastic ones. Any other differences?

I am curious as to the volume. Being thinner than the plastic version, it may have a larger volume.

Can you shoot photos?

i was thinking the same thing. i would say it must have more volume. it is surprisingly thin walled and light. i thought the box was empty when i got it.
it feels bigger kinda i think its because they eliminated the bolt on the front end and kinda tucked it under, you may have seen this. and yes i think it is a bit more rounded but still has all the same lines, of course. i will take some picks tomorrow for you. also as to the volume, the fuel pump must be significantly smaller which would allow for more fuel..
