ok I know this has been explained before but humor me! What in the Hell are those two little lights along with the H$'s that I had to replace with some funky blue bastards. Parking lights? Ok why then are all four on at all times. This answer has got to be good cause its startin to freak me out. Sean

Run, Forest. RUN!
The little lights that come on with the ignition are running lights. The big lights that come on when the engine starts are the headlights. In many countries, headlights are switched - in the US, they're required to be on whenever the bike is running. :horse:

stupid is as stupid does Limey! But all four of the farking lights on all the time? count them there are four lights two little farkers and two big puke blue farkers that are on all the time. Its farkin freakin me out! Who's farkin idea was it to have four! farkin lights on at the same time? how abour four big farkin blue farkin H4's in there? That would atleast give all the Farkin cagers something to farkin look at! They would obviously Farkin see me comming ten miles away and think I was a farkin DC10 coming in for a landing! better yet how about have the farkin lower blue H4 flashing on and off to get the farkin cagers attention. There has got to be a better answer for those little farkin pieces of farkin shisa bovine bulbs! sean

less farking and more forking
i don't know bout your speedies....but on the daytonas there are "small" bulbs in the headlights too. they have been explained to me 2 ways. the 1st reason is that they can be turned on when you go one more click past the handle bar key lock position. it was said that way you could lock your bike in a parking position and signal to someone that you would be back in a few moments..with the 2 small lights. sorta like a double parked/hazard light scenario. the 2nd reason i heard is that in some countries you can switch the main headlights on/off with a handlebar switch, and that way you could drive in the streets with just the 2 small bulbs on.
It's the same deal for the Speed Triple....

There once was a fellow named Dirkin
Was always jerkin' his gherkin
His father said, "Dirkin,
quit jerkin' yer gherkin:
Yer gherkin's fer ferkin', not jerkin'"

Those little bulbs are the running lights on the bike, the bigger brighter bulbs are the headlights. Yes, the headlights can be switched off in some countries. I know of Ducati owners who get the Italian headlight switch, so they can run around the US with those running lights (many get rid of the factory battery, and put in this puny 'race' battery, and any way they can reduce the load on the electrics, the better)
Okay children. If you need to say it, it's spelled F U C K I N G. Not firking, forking, farkin or fuken.

We're mostly adults here (Except Devi. He's 12.) Nobody's going to ban you for a little profanity. Just don't fucking over do it.

On the headlights: If they bother you just remove the bulbs. Nothing lost there. I kinda like them myself. Think I'm going to replace them with strobes though. ;D

My wife would say you are being highly optimistic. :D

This is the rule: When you reach 35 you start counting backwards. I was born in 1967. That means I will turn 30 in september. Isn't that nice?

Math word problems SUK!
Based on this formula, I am only 29, but my wife would still disagree. ;D
Oh, and HiVel would be considerably younger!

So what's the volumetric efficiency of an airbox with a total volume of 3.56 liters and an inlet/outlet ratio of .67/1 and an airflow of 85 cubic meters per minute?

What, your wife thinks you're younger? I just made a date with a 25 year old from my class. :fingure: :drink:

It all depends on the shape of the airbox and the inlet size. If it is square assuming its ratio X/n2 then as the velocity increases the volumetric effenciency decresse due to erratic vortices. Now given a round or circular air box with a know inlet size and controled and know reaction to increased air velocity, then the equation is more easily formed. Damn my head hurts! sean

Of course, of course. But your premise doesn't take into account intake tract length and velocity stack taper and diameter. Ambient barometric pressure is also an undefined variable, as well as the ratio of internal/external temperature.

How's the head now?

Mine hurts all the time. Rubbing on the bedframe you know.

Methinks something got wet? Perhaps check your relays.

Crash has had a couple of wires crossed for quite some time.

Crash - as to word problem number 2, at what rpm?

Ever try to figure out a 1960's Volkswagen Beetle wiring diagram? That's the simplified version of my brain.

Well that depends doesn't it? Piston engine or Wankel Rotary?
G
I am not worthy of crashmaster! He exploded my brain...too much input ....stop it! now or there will be nothing left..... :horse: ok just stick the fork in me I am done. Captain i have given you all she's got and there ain't nomore. Volumetric efficiency...............oh the pain....... :violent1: sean
