My buddies and I are at the gas station halfway through our ride yesterday when this old guy comes up to me at the counter and says "I recognize the Speed Triple, but what are those other two bikes". ;D The guys I was riding with were both on Honda VFR 800's. Usually its the other way around.

That's funny. On Memorial Day I went for a ride with a buddy who's got an R1, we saw 2 1050 s3's that day and only 2 R1s. He gave me some shit saying the s3 was becoming common place. ;D

to bad you can get an r1 fixed in an eighth of the time. obviously not common place enough.

Still waiting eh? I can't imagine how pissed I'd be. I'd probably not be a returning Triumph customer, that's for sure!!
yeah kc, still waiting. i just wish i hadn't been an idiot and had my bike as my only transport. tough to get chicks to take bus back home with you...

however, my new wonderful girlfriend did take the bus back within the first week of dating. knew there was something to her.

3+ months and counting 1/4 of a year

Funny - that must make the R1 yesterdays news.....

I have yet to see more than two other S3 around these parts....
I know they are out there I'm just not seeing them.
I've seen more s3's and other triumph models on the road this year, than I have over the past 5 years. A local dealer even has a huge billboard with a t-100 on it. As popularity grows, maybe a larger dealer network and better service? I feel lucky to have two fairly good dealers in CT. I wouldn't be surprised if you see more s3's than r1s on the road, after all it is a better bike. ;D
I've got another first --

Gassing Speedy up, this ******* comes around from the other side of the pumps and asks, "Are you the one that laid it down?"
I was very confused for a moment, instantly checking to see if somebody at work had knocked her over and not said anything, broken turnsignals, dents, etc...then answered, "Why? Does is look like it? :wtf:"
He pointed around the front of the bike, "Did you just take the bodywork off?"
"Umm, no. It came that way - it's a naked bike."
"Well, it sure sounded good when you rolled in here - I just thought...anyway, take 'er easy."
I said thanks and got on out of there, just shaking my head.
I have STILL only seen one other S3 in the flesh, and that's the white one still sittin' at the dealer. I know there's one in Pensacola, and one in Jacksonville, an' apparently some sort o' Black Speed Triple Mafia down in S. FL. But aroun' here, it's just me.

I did spot an orange S4, but only briefly, and only once. I've seen way more Daytonas, Sprints, and oddly enough lately, T-birds.

Not surprised about Honda thing - the VFR is pretty non-descript these days. It's sorta the ultimate generic sportbike.
There are a few bike locations in SFLA and at the most I've seen 3 at one time but one day about 2 months ago at this Park (Holiday Park)that all bike people and types meet. I had five S3's two Tigers and two RocketsIII's yes at one time.
The joke was its time to get a Bussa. :bs: :bs: :bs:
I see tons of s3's in CT, maybe we just have smarter riders buying the right bike.

It's too hot down here for anything other than a naked bike (unless they make Goldwing with air conditioning) :slap:
