I am so f**king stupid :violent1:. Today, it looks like it may or may not rain, well I decide that I'm not going to sit all day waiting for it to start so I decide to take the s3 for a ride. I start on a little loop that I ride fairly regularly because it has a nice well paved on ramp that you can really lean on. On the way there I do a 1/2decent wheelie, crack it in first, into second, carry it for a ways, yeah that was fun. I turn onto the ramp go up fairly quickly but it's cool and I'm not 100% confident in the tires, at the top I usually take a right and go onto the highway, but today I decide to go staight across the big intersection and onto some side streets. Wait for the light to change, start across the intersection, give it some gas, up she comes, but not high enough to stay up on the shift to 2nd, continue on to the next left, hear sirens behind, and pull over to wait for it. I'm sooo stoopid. Cop comes up says "man, you gotta look around before you do that". I asked where he was, he said "right on the other side of the intersection, you did a wheelie right past me." I'm so F**KING stoopid :violent1:. In my defense he was in a Suburban and I never even thought for a second he was a cop, but still... Anyway, he gets out of his car after getting my info and comes up and says "you've got a terrible driving history" I say "it's not that bad" he says "it's like 10 pages long" well it hasn't been too bad recently, he says "there were like 3 or 4 careless on there" I said "well one was 2 years ago, but the others were at least 15". "Was the last one for the same thing" he asks. "Maybe" I say. "You just don't learn" ,"no I don't" I say. Anyway he gives me a ticket for reckless driving and no proof of insurance because I was still carying the card for my zx10, there's a mandatory court appearance too, man, I am stoopid.

The thing is, this is like the 4th time in 3 years I've done basically the same thing, what is wrong with me :horse:? I've been like this for 20 years :violent1:. Ever since i had my Yamaha Radian...that's when my soul was corrupted..I'm starting to think maybe I should be restricted to a klr650 that needs carb work or something like that. I AM SO F**KING STOOPID :violent1: :violent1:!

HIRE A GOOD TRAFFIC LAWYER. You might just luck out and end up with a lower offense, fines, and no suspension. If you're stupid-lucky like me, you'll end up with a brake-light violation...

I no longer do wheelie-stoppie-wheelie-stoppie chains in downtown areas.

Son, you just need one of these:

Yes, that is a Diesel motorcycle, with a whopping 7.4 HP! 200 MPG (!!!) Guaranteed to keep the front wheel down and not exceed the speed limit in a school zone.

NOT stooopid......but a true hooligan!! Hope all goes well. I can sell you my '81 Honda CM400E. She is really clean................
No thanks. ;D

Ironically my VERY first was a CM400T, I kept it for a month and then sold it to a friend when I bought the Radian. That was the spark, the Radian was just throwing gas on it.

How many wheelies did I do after I left the cop today? At least a 1/2 dozen. I HATE motorcycles!

Ouch, that'n will probably sting a bit. I've been bad on the SV this week, It is hard not to listen to the bike, but it can be done. That SV is just a blast to ride though. Talk to the prosecutor see if he'll drop anything for ya, get a letter from your Insurance agent to take in with you so you can show that you've been taking care of stuff. If he wont work with ya, then consider your options. I always tell people to talk to the prosecutor before hiring an attorney, you'll likely get the same deal an attorney would get you without having to pay anyone.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that. ;D
Yeah, those rarely end very well....try to contain yourself. Or better yet, I've heard (not actually positive) that Dallas, TX cops are not chasing anymore for such violations. Which makes a lot of sense. Wheelies rarely do much damage to anybody but the "perp". But chasing a guy on a motorcycle does a lot of damage if the cop car t-bones a car load of innocents.

Are there other cities out there where police chases are frowned upon by the govn't??

After I got home I called a buddy to vent, and that's what I came up with too, even though it was through an intersection, no one was hurt. If I wheelied into the side of another car, than I could see reckless behavior, but no one was hurt, why is it such a serious charge? I was always in control of my mototcycle.

Here in south MS we have a no pursuit policy. it may even be statewide. only for motorcycles though.

cops don't even turn their lights on anymore. I've passed numerous state troopers(the hard ass police around here) at 35+ over on back roads and highways... they don't even tap their brakes.

i have ... acquaintances... who try to goad the police into chases, but they've never been successful if one were to believe their stories...
a friend *ALWAYS* gets out of tickets because he always stops for the police.

out here the cop bikes cant chase you unless your on the highway the regular cops can chase no matter what. and on the stop and no ticket it has worked for me almost everytime usually the cop is happy he doesnt have to chase and impressed that you were responsible for your actions

I had a sport bike run from me yesterday and he got away. I was seriously just gonna write him a warning and he took off. My work bike can't catch a sportbike on the freeway. Maybe I will get him someday, maybe not. I could really care less. I do however know for a fact that if I do catch one who is running away, I will arrest him. That is the consequences. You get away, crash, or get arrested. Good adrenaline rush!
