At some point some where I heard a rumor that Triumph was going to make a new Sport Tourer with a bigger engine. Did I dream this or does anyone else know about it. I think I read it on the TRAT site. Maybe too much LSD in the 60's. :tongue2:

Triumph has plans to bring out a cruiser/tourer in the next year or so to bridge the gap between the America/Speedmaster (865cc) and the Rocket III (2300cc). Supposedly, it will be a vertical triple in the 1400-1800cc range. This would probably also mean the demise of the existing America/Speedmaster.

Only a guess, but I would think they're working on an engine based on the classic twin engine, which currently powers the Bonnie/America/Speedmaster/Thruxton/Scrambler(with a different crank)

I heard a rumor that they were trying to resurrect the 'Hurricane' name for this bike, and were discussing the use of the name with Honda.

Man, this subject is near and dear... I put a deposit down on a Concours 14. Now, if the speculation is true that it is a cruiserish tourer, I don't know if it competes with the Concours 14 in my mind. I would love to know more solid information before I pull the trigger. Of course, the Sprint speaks to me as well.
