i recently bought a 2005 Triumph Speed Triple and was having batter issues on start up. So i bought a new battery thinking that would solve it, but i for some reason keep losing charge or my bike (i guess somehow) isn't getting the full charge needed to start. I honestly have no idea where to start on trying to solve this issue.

Check the voltage on the three legs coming from the stator, they should be equal. Probably find that one is way low from being burned/shorted. Very common problem for '05-'10. Could be bad R/R (regulator/rectifier) two. Usually when one goes the other is not far behind. Very common problem. The best bet is to get much better R/R such as the series style Shindengen SH847 which are more reliable and greatly decrease the current and therefore heating in the stator. There are a couple of aftermarket stators available, I forget which brands seem to be preferred these days.

Should you need a stator look at Rick's Motorsport Electric. I have purchased from them and they make a good product for a fair price which, btw,, is way less expensive than Triumph OEM.
