I went for a little ride last night. About 4 miles from my house, I'm travelling in the left lane of a six-lane divided road, when this blond in a Pontiac Sunfire makes a left turn right in front of me. Rather than hit her, I laid Speedy down at 45 mph. My gear is messed up, and I'm awfully sore today. Speedy came out of it with scratches, and two worn slider pucks. She got a ticket - I had to ride Speedy home with what I thought was a broken hand and clavicle.
I'm feeling a little better tonight. Yay, drugs!

I'll try to post up some pics on the gallery

As long as her insurance is buying, I'm gonna replace any scratched part. I put several pictures up in the gallery, waiting on approval.

Personally, I got two small spots of rash - where my knee wore through and where my jacket slid up, exposing my shirt.

Also:

Sprained left ankle
Broken right big toe
Sprained right knee
Bruised right hip
Hyper-extended left thumb and forefinger
Broken Metacarpal bone in right hand
Bruised 5th rib on left side
Bruised right elbow
Sprained right shoulder :'(

I have this knack for getting hurt or sick right before a holiday, allowing me to miss less work.

Thanks for the sentiments.

Glad to hear that you came out of it without "major" injury!! Heal up quick!

p.s. Did the Vortex sliders do what they were supposed to?
Take a look at the pics in the gallery. Bike was probaly doing 35 when it hit the ground. NO damage to radiator, wheels, exhaust.
Scratches on the alternator cover and clutch cover. Flat spot on the ball end of the brake lever, and bar end is scraped.
I slid and rolled about 50 feet - Speedy went about 60 feet.

When the EMTs arrived, one guy asked where the biker was. They didn't think it was me, because I wasn't all bloody.
