dealer called me last week and told me the parts were in to do my brake fix (finally). they said bring it by tuesday evening and leave it with us for a day or two. i bring it in this evening and the service manager says we'll get to it next week. i said why didn't you just have me bring it in next week then? he says well if you want to just bring it back then.....i say well obviously you don't know how hard it is to coordinate the wife and baby for a 50 minute ride each way. i have to plan this shit out. i can't just load up the family and spend an evening delivering my bike to you. we have busy schedules. this is why a dealership service dept. will never get a sniff of my bike for service work unless it is warranty. i don't trust anyone to work on my bike but me. i am pretty competent and if i am unsure i will read my service manual and figure it out. if you can read you can do anything. i asked them to give me the parts and let me replace them myself but they said no. i have zero confidence in these mickey mouse techs at the dealership. when i get the bike back i will go over the work. fuck fuck fuck fuck :violent1: :violent1: :violent1: :violent1:

How the fuck can they be that busy? Aholes. :jerkit: my dealer did it while I waited.
Sounds like mine. I called every two or three weeks for about 3 months. Every time I heard "they're on order" "backordered, but we'll get em soon" Earlier this month I was told that they wern't on order and that they had to inspect my bike first. Sitting on my workbech are GSXR calipers and a Nissin 3/4 master cylinder. Waiting for some brake lines and new pads from Galfer. And a few "little things" that snuck up on me. I say the same, fuck em the worst shop in Utah. Everytime I talk to someone that has a Triumph, MV Agusta or BMW I ask what they think of the shop. No one has ever said anything good about them. One guy had a Triple and they had his bike for a month just to put on a tors and tune! When he called to tell em to fuck off, they didn't have the bike done, 1hour later when he came to pick it up, it was done. Another guy had an MV Brutale, took them a month to do his tires! I've bitched enough about the troubles I've had.
Dealers suck, being the only dealer in the state makes em suck worse. Some competition would really clean up.

i had a different (excellent) experience with a dealer service - la brea (ca) triumph service dept. first off, because i lived over 100 miles away, they said that they would do the 6000 mile service (plus other services) the day that i brought it in (saturday). i agreed and when i brought it in, the mechanic sacrificed his lunch time and got it all done within 3 hours (11:30 - 2:30). i was so appreciative that i bought the mechanic lunch. i wish it could be like this all the time...
Hey briank!

That sucks. Since you're in the NJ area, I assume you are dealing with Freehold triumph??? Or a PA dealer?

It might be worth your trouble to ride up to Jack Trebor Triumph in Northern NJ and have Joe work on your bike. Their shop rocks, is completely honest with you and will usually do my work while I wait. If they can handle your brake fix while you wait it would be totally worth the ride up, no? Plus if you take Rt. 513 or Rt 517 or Rt 565 it's a nice ride. And the Irish bar next to Trebor has a geat lunch menu so you can just chill while your work is being done.

BTW - I believe we met briefly at the Gathering of Nortons a few weeks back. I had the white 1050 and was with another guy named Matt on a black 1050.

Good Luck,
CT

That's the way dealerships are supposed to be. Mine is. Trouble is they seem to be the minority. I don't know what I'll do when Kelly and Janice retire.
The dealer i go to now is great, sounds like your one needs to be kickboxed in the throat and testicles. :violent1:

That is totally fucked. I wonder how they can stay in business offering shit service like that. Perhaps Triumph should be made aware of how bad they are. Maybe Bucket's idea is a good one!

I bought a new rear tire (fitted) last Saturday, by my Triumph dealer. Rang on the Friday to make sure they had one.
Rode in the front door 10am Sat. and out the door 10.30am...all done...fitted, dynamically balanced and wheel cleaned.

Hey Jpip, I guess you don't wanna be hearing good stories like this

Brian.....I hope you get it sorted and get back on the road soon

Granted I don't ride to my dealer unless it's warranty stuff cause they are 100 miles away and my buddy is a mechanic at the metric shop in town.

FWIW - He took my rear wheel in yesterday (his day off) and threw on a Diablo cause I was down to cords... When I get my set from cycle gear the dealer gets my new rear. That's how service should be.

Shitty service suks!
that suks brian, I feel ya on the dealer hate man. :horse: :finger:
Bucket, where are you going?

I'm not sure where you are AA but if you're anywhere near the Gold Coast in Queensland I really can't recommend Paul Feeney's highly enough. I had all sorts of problems with Shogun Honda/Triumph when I bought my first Triumph back in 2000 but have nothing but good things to say about Feeney's. Traded my ST in on an S3 there in 2002 and had nothing but good service.
1050, Feeney's is good but I need to book in a month in advance for a service there.

Really? That's a bugger. I haven't got my new S3 yet since getting back from overseas. Definitely planning on talking to them when I'm shopping around. Sounds like they've got a lot busier though.
Book in for your 500k sevice when you pick up the bike.
It's easy to knock up 500k in a day or two and you wont be stuck with a bike you cant ride because it needs an oil change.
I bought from feeney's but when I called for service there was a 3 week delay.
Springwood was worse, 5 weeks!

Who in their right mind would leave their bike for a month for a pipe install?
