I haven't even received mine yet! At this point I don't know if I ever will. Devi and CB know of my continuing battles with UPS. They refuse to leave certain packages without an adult signature. It seems to be perfectly arbitrary. Here is my chain of emails with Dan Kyle.

I want to check on the status of my shock. I got the invoice Friday and some people in the group buy received their shocks Friday so I was expecting to see a box waiting for me when I got home Monday. No box yet.

Dan,

Listen to the attached voice mail from UPS. I'm pretty sure it is the shock package that they are playing games with & refusing to deliver without an adult signature.

No one is ever home to sign for packages and even though there is a sign posted inside the window telling them to deliver to my retired next door neighbor they won't do it. I have never had a package stolen or tampered with but UPS continues to be a royal PITA about delivering anything. This is why I asked for the shipment to be sent "Signature NOT Required". The worst part is they hold the package hostage in the next county and they close before I get off work.

The problem is we had OHLINS USA drop ship it, so we are not in control of the signature part.

You can contact UPS and Pick it up at their office.

Ohlins is checking, another possibility is having the address changed to one someone is at. Is there another address??

Dan

This is the address of a friends business, I get wine shipped there because someone always has to sign for that:

XXX Corp
1234 Freedom Court
Greer, SC 29650

Thanks for your efforts.

Dan,

I guess they got the address changed, all I know is UPS made no attempt to deliver to the house. Can you get a tracking number for me?

Thanks again.

They were going to try to get the Sign required taken off first, they if they could not do that the change of address. I believe they were able to get the sign required removed.

Dan

Still no delivery. This is getting old.

Did they try and deliver it?? Was there a note left?? I spoke with Ohlins they were able to change it to no sign required.

Dan

Please get me the tracking number, then I can try to work it from this end. There have been no door tags or any other communication from UPS other than the totally worthless voice mail I forwarded last week.

Something is rotten in the state of Sweden. They must have shipped it, otherwise what was the USP voice mail about? Maybe I should just buy a Penske shock.

Strange.
I did not have to sign for mine. It was left at the front door.

Doc - You have worse issues than I do with OOoops! (UPS)
And THAT is saying something. :violent1:

I have the exact opposite problem with UPS. They will often leave expensive objects (Zard, Powder coating equip., tools....) outside my door w/out even knocking. Sadly stuff is starting to disappear in my neighborhood (my iPod was recently stolen out of my truck, my neighbor's dirt bike got stolen out of the back of his truck.)

Here's to you recieving your shock. If you continue having problems w/ UPS, you can tell them to send it to me.

Alaska, yes. Anchorage, not so much. Where I grew up my keys never got lost, because they were always in the ignition. I never had a key to my house, because I didn't need one. Anchorage is by far the largest city in the state, and it shows. People that have grown up here seldom enjoy the activities that the rest of the state does, fishing, hunting etc... so you basically have two camps: Alaskans and city boys. Apparently, much to my dismay, city boys steal shit.

I hate UPS. Almost every time they come to deliver something, they just ring the door bell, slap the notice on the door, and take off. Most of the time they don't even wait at the door for any longer than it takes to slap the sticker notice on the door. Plus, most of the packages I get from UPS are partially crushed.

That is why I always ship USPS priority, Fed Ex, or DHL. I've only had a few annoyances with FedEx, but their packages are almost always in good shape. USPS is sometimes slow, but packages show up without any damage and the same for DHL.

I have not had time to mount mine either. Damn swing shifts, and when i do get a day off i'm either taking care of stuff I have had to let slide previously or I'm getting called back in to work.
Where I live UPS is king and FEDEX is the one that sucks.
My shock was here in just a couple of days, but I also live 20 min. from Ohlins.

Yes

TBH - I'm not entirely convinced it's setup cose enough for me, yet to get it into the local suspension guru to have it tweaked - but feels very planted. I might go out later and check the static sag on the back end, as I'm thinking of taking the pre-load down a little (as that's what it feels like it needs first off)

Problem is I've also had the forks completely re-done, so hard to critque in isolation - IMO the forks were a bigger issue as the OE ones were skittish and the damping was errr 'less than perfect' to put it mildly. The difference in the behaviour of the front end is very apparent - not really had much opportunity but it now does seem very unruffled at speed, cranked over on bumpy sections - whereas before it was a little flappy and vague

Anyone else still waiting on thier shock from the group buy? I just got off the phone with the folks at Dan Kyle and they told me that the shock still hasn't been shipped from Ohlins-Sweden. Dan Kyle could source it from another distributor, but it'll cost me $50 MORE than the group buy price. Factor in that Ohlins-Sweden goes on vacation for the entire month of July and I might not get this shock until August! WTF? :slap: :violent1: :slap: :violent1:

Still waiting..........................................................

Last email from Dan had an email forwarded from Ohlins Sweden. Evidently they are not meeting even this schedule! The TR502 is the one for 1050.

Looking like it will be July before the time we get them. Here is the latest from Dan Kyle:

Here is the word I received THIS MORNING. This still means 2 weeks before we get the TR502’s.

Dan,

Here is the news below. These are production/ship dates from Sweden . We will have them here in NC a week later.

Not real bad news….( only 2 months late… )

Well, it's been another week, maybe I should poke him with a stick again.
Ohlins doesn't seem to have any real production dates, notice how the emails just say "this week or next". WTF kind of a way to run a business is that?
