I know, I know - that's an old one.

Anyhoo - I would really like some help with a TuneBoy cable to get my ECU serial number, so's I can get my TE key. Do you feel like a ride on Sunday? PM me if you like. Thanks!

I got your PM but was waiting for some of my riding buddies to see what's happening this weekend. Don't have any feed back yet but I don't need them to go for a ride! I got a little ride in last night to scrub my new tires. Still got a ways to go to get rid of the chicken strips.

Do you have a PC with the TuneBoy/TuneEdit software loaded? I could just bring the USB cable then & we could read the read the ECU S/N.

My favorite loop is 178/215 to the Blue Ridge Parkway then out to the Pisgah Inn for breakfast or lunch. Down & up 151 for some super tight hairpins and back down the BRP to 276 to head back to Greenville. It is only a few miles from the bottom of 151 to Asheville. Of course, there are lots of other routes to ride.

Come on up, Cheap - we'll put sumpin' together! Doc, check yer PM's - if Cheap wants to meet up, maybe we can meet to the east, over by Tryon/Mill Spring? Then work our way back across toward 276 via Tuxedo? Whatever's fine with me!

Kartstar - I might as well leave the cable with you. You are gonna need it to load tunes once you get your key. It is small so I'll just plan on bringing it along, you can mail it back when you're done.

Cheap & I have talked about meeting at Mt Mitchell, it is close to halfway between us. There is a restaurant on the access road from the BRP to the summit. We could meet up near Asheville & drive on up to meet CB for lunch. Mt Mitchell is usually the turn around point for me but I'm sure we could do a side excursion before heading home.

Weather is looking good and Sunday should work out real well with the rest of my schedule. I'm open to other suggestions as far as where to meet. Lake Lure might work.

Cheap - I've forgotten what town your in, somewhere near Winston-Salem?

I have a small problem with she_who_must_be_obeyed, as well. As long as I get out early, I can probably hook up, but I need to be home by 1 or 2 at the absolute latest. We just sold the house, there's work to be done, blahblah...unfortunately, she's right (but don't tell her I said so).

So maybe we could get something together early, and we can meet Cheap before I have to turn tail and run home? I appreciate the use of your cable - it won't take me long.

I just checked, and the BRP is open to Mitchell from both sides, so that might work well for me - ride up from this side w/you, and you guys can run North, down 80, across Old Fort/Sugar Hill Rd to Lake Lure - whatever.

well dang guys, I can't make it this weekend. I was hoping to git my new rear tire mounted yesterday, but got an unexpected call at work, and had to do sumt'n else after work. Got shit to do this afternoon and Sat, so there's no chance I can git my new one mounted before Sunday. :'( I guess one good thing can come from this... maybe I could take the time to git some burnout pics. ;D

Doc, you got time for an early meetup? I can meet you at the top or bottom (your side) of 215 and cruise up to the Inn, and 151 is my after-work ride on many days. LMK -

Yeah, it's simpler without having to fit that cheap bastard into the picture. :fingure:

Bottom of 215 is a good place to meet. It's still pretty chilly over night at higher elevations so I'd like to let the sun get up a bit (ie not crack of dawn). If I leave the house at 9 AM, I can be at the bottom of 215 at ~10 or a few minutes later allowing for a gas stop on the way. Does that give you enough time or do you want to make it earlier?

Done and done! Meet you at the corner of US64 and NC215 at 10am Sunday. I may have one of my Ducati friends along for the ride, but he's OK for a Duc rider.

I'm still on for tomorrow morning. Got the TuneBoy cable packed under the seat so I can't forget it. Only thing I've ever been able to fit in there! Did you get the software downloaded & installed? I could bring the CD but the web site has a newer version.
