ok i know every one says TB is better but i had to add coolant to the res today and lifted the seat and found a power commander 3 :) yeah :) cant beat free so my questions are:

1. the three buttons on the pc3 low mid high im assuming thats the rpm it tunes for??

2. i have a leo vance pipe the pc3 and high performance air filter that should put me where hp and trq wise??

3. could the pc be why she gets hot(195-210 F)

Those temperatures sound pretty normal to me. I doubt PC has anything to do with that. These bikes run hot.

I know next to nothing about PowerCommanders though. What year is your bike? That makes a difference in HP.

In theory the 2003 should have about 118 HP at the crank bone stock. Properly set up with the configuration you mentioned and tuned with the PC I would expect about 110 peak rear wheel horsepower, and maybe 75 Ft/lbs of torque.

That's my best guess mind you, based only on what little I know about that year bike. That could be off by as much as +/- 5-8 horsepower.

Cool ride none-the-less.

There is nothing wrong with using a PCIII - especially a free one. ;D

If you modify your crank trigger pick-up mount so it will allow you to add timing advance, it can make the same peak power as a TuneBoy. The driveability will not be the same though - especially at lower rpm.
