At one point, on another site, someone had posted a link a heavily modified R3, it was the largest cafe racer ever! I can't seem to find it, but it was sweet. I will keep looking

Still thinking about it though.

The R3 rocks let me tell you. You S3 guys talk about torque :jerkit:

The stock air box is too small... WAY to small.
Wayne Macdonald at TuneBoy also makes some pod type filters that add power.

I can think of a few other things that might work too. ;) THAT is why I want to play with one.

Gad, that woman was just moaaan and groan left and right but then put a tiny little happy note at the end, wtf?! That bike is frickin' phenomenal and blows away any harley I've ever ridden.

Dad took his airbox apart and put individual filters on his intakes. After adding a supertrapp slip-on he got it dyno tuned and had something like 147ft lbs and 145rwhp...

The bastard wheelies without effort in 1st gear. You don't even need to slip the clutch, just grab some throttle and up she comes!

shit, I've been want'n a damn Rocket ever since I test rode one last year. That SOB is amazing. Dobie, how much have you ridden that thang? Good enough to do a comparo yet? I still think the Rocket would out accelerate speedy from 0-100. :horse: That f'cker is fast. ;D

They are great bikes and great fun.In the right hand you can keep pretty much any bike in sight in the tight stuff.
I have had some fun with guys on sports bike on my R3.Played with a guy on a Duke last year for about 15 ks,he got past me but I kept with him until he slowed down and I past him.
I seen him 3 times later that day and he nearly waved his arm off,I think he was a bit surprised that a big fat old cruiser with bags and all kept up to him on his flash sports bike and full leathers.

I hope to buy my R3 back from the damaged bikes auctions later this month and if I miss it I will definitely be buying a new one.I still like it a lot more than my 02 S3 but the speedy is growing on me more and more ;D

I will tell you this much it sure feels like its faster in a straight line.
It also has allot of potential gains with a few mods. I am talking 160 hp and 160# torque at the rear wheel potential :wtf:
Fuck munching on weak little Harley's this thing wants to go toe to toe with the stretched swing arm types. Roll on power is unreal and the torque never ends only the rpm to shift again.
I NEVER thought I would go cruiser but this thing takes power cruising to a level I didnt know existed :pow:

I'll have to agree, the guys I've talked with say it handles fairly well too, as seen in the pic above. Sure it's no speedy when it hits the twisties, but I'm sure it would still be a blast. ;) ;D I still say ya oughta hang onto speedy too though Dobie. As it stands right now, you are my new hero. :horse: You've got what I want... 4 eyes. ;D

I can tell you personally that the Rocket can hang with ANY production bike in a drag race. Maybe it won't win EVERY race, but it'll never get embarrassed. And only bikes like the Hayabusa will straight-up beat it on a quarter-mile. Some folks say that the V-Max will beat the Rocket. What a joke. I've smoked every V-Max that I ran against in the 1/4.

The twisties... well that's a different story. Yes, the Rocket handles surprisingly well for a bike it's size. In fact, it probably handles better than EVERY other cruiser made. But let's face it, it's no sportbike. Still, it handles well enough that a talented rider on the Rocket will still beat a less talented rider on a sportbike. But given riders of equivalent talent, the sportbike will win, of course.

Performance aside, the Rocket looks like it was made to stand next to the Speed Triple, no? ;D

I saw a squid test ride one while on a ride with the demo truck, the fucker went to adjust the right mirror and when he put his hand back on the bar grabbed a handfull o' gas. I never would have thought that lardy looking fucker had so much grunt!! That bitch can wheelie! I could never own one as my only bike, but could add one to the stable.
